Do I need to get a referral or approval from my medical doctor before seeing a chiropractor?

No. Chiropractors are primary health care providers. A referral is not necessary to visit a chiropractor. Chiropractors are trained to take a thorough medical history and perform a thorough exam and will refer you to the appropriate health care provider if a problem is discovered that is outside of the scope of practice for the chiropractor.
